Oahu Hawaii Day3 part 2

For the second part of today I headed towards Diamond head and almost climbed it but I wanted to see more of the Island so I continued along the coast. Somewhere in here I passed the house where the exterior shots for Magnum PI were filmed I headed next to the Valley of the Gods and to the Shinto Shrine there. next it was on around to the north shore  again for more swimming, watching surfers and.....More Pineapple, I think I have an addiction. Then I finished off my day with another huge helping of Shrimp at the Shrimp truck and caught sunset on sunset again. I got to bead early in preparation for the trip home tomorrow.

The Shinto Byodo-In Temple in the valley of the gods

There is not one single nail or fastener in this entire building, it is all wood joinery.

Some of the over 1000 Koi in the surrounding ponds, they can live up to 100 years.

Amida is 18'tall and is the largest Buddha carved in over 900 years

The Bon-sho bell is rung for good luck after making an offering. I love the sound of this bell. it weighs 3 tons.

Headed up the east side of O'ahu towards the North Shore.

Time for Sunset and again I am at Sunset Beach, not a nice as the day before.

This is just about the end of the trip, the next day I hit the mega tourist trap store of Hilo Hatties which is not to be missed and the Hard Rock to get some collector pins for a friend. By this time my rental car was a disaster, covered with pineapple juice and sand about an inch deep on the drivers side floor. I mad a valiant effort to clean it up at a quarter wash but in the end  when I took it back it was still messy as hell. I felt kind of bad about returning it dirty until I was reminded that there was a $75.00 cleaning fee, DOH! I didn't say a word I figured I deserved it. till next time Aloooooooooooha.
