Today we rode east from Hayward up the right side of the map on Redwood
road, at Skyline we turned north to Hwy 13 and 24 up to the Oakland bay
Bridge. here we had to lane split about 4 miles of traffic to get to the
bridge, this was my first experience lane splitting and I found it nerve
racking. After crossing we rode past Fisherman's wharf under the Golden
gate and then back over to Sausalito. then we rode out to the coast and
back to the bridge. along this last stretch we came across lots of old
coastal defense sites some dating back to the 1800's. after we stopped to
have dinner with some friends on Fisherman's Wharf we headed back to
Hayward, as we traveled down the 101 we ran in to gridlock almost as soon
as we got on the freeway, we ended up having to lane split over 30 miles
of traffic including all the way across the San Mateo bridge. |
