CA Coast and Dinner with a old friend
I started today in Weott, CA after spending the night in the Humbolt Red Woods state park which is about half way down the Avenue of the giants.

I cut over to the coast on CA 1 near Leggett. CA 1 is one of those roads that doesn't have a straight bit on it, 15 miles if turns so tight that you are almost dizzy at times. But the twists and turns were worth it once I got to the coast. WOW what scenery!

I was having a great time driving down the coast but it was taking me far longer than I had anticipated and I had dinner plans in the bay area with an old friend Scott and his wife. I had lost touch with Scott almost 20 years ago. In March he contacted a mutual friend and he put me in touch with Scott. It was really nice to be able to enjoy a quiet evening catching up after so long. It was a great way to end my adventure. I was still about 10 days from home but I would spend most of that in Reno with my friends there.
