I ended today by helping out some people who didn't deserve help but I
helped them any way. These two fools got drunk and stoned, then they got the
bright idea to drive on to the beach in their Pontiac Fiero and do
doughnuts. I was only a matter of time before they got stuck and they had
the bad luck to do it well below the high tide line. I pulled up to watch
the sunset at this beach and noticed a good sized group of people trying
to dig this car out. I struck up a conversation with a older lady
who lived on the beach and was watching from near the road. She told me
about how these two fools had blasted out on to the beach a couple of
hours ago and got stuck, we agreed that having their car flooded served
them right. then she and I realized that if their car got flooded that
there would be allot of oil and gas washing up on the beach for days
afterward. So I hopped in my truck and drove out on to the beach to save
them from them selves. I came around them so I was pointed back at the road and stopped
and that is where I made my mistake. The sand was very soft and I ended up
stuck. No biggie I locked in my hubs manually and put the truck in 4 low,
next I got my shovel out and dug out from in front my tires. I was able to
power right back to the road where I got back on the firm sand and headed
back out to get the car unstuck. This time I stayed on the wet sand and
hooked these guys up while they dug the sand out from around their tires.
These two idiots managed to really annoy me before I had been there more
than two minutes. I hooked to their frame and jerked that car out of the
hole they had dug them selves in to, and I wasn't gentle about how I pulled
it out. I had no sooner unhooked my chains than they took off. They had
managed to spin 2 tires off the wheels and it sounded like they had burned
their clutch out as well. I got back to the road and took a few pics of the
sunset before heading out for a place to spend the night. I ended up in a
rest area just south of Pacific City, OR |
