As a local bumper sticker says
"Homer a nice drinking town with a fishing problem"

I woke up in Homer late in the morning and rambled around town some. Other than the spit which extends out 4 miles from shore I didn't really find anything all that interesting about Homer. I spent some time parked, overlooking the harbor working on web pages and sorting pics. The weather is still cold and rainy. I did get some nice shots of a bald eagle on the beach, and a few of the land mark Salty Dawg Saloon. where I then went for a few beers. I was sitting by the door and a couple of feet away was a young guy reading a book, and a few feet next to him way a young lady writing in her journal. It was kind of funny we had all kind of silently banded together but were definitely alone at the same time. A woman on her way out asked the guy what he was reading and then commented that we looked funny over in the corner together but alone. I joked that it was the loners corner, well we all started talking and kept it up for several hours and before I went to bed the guy (Matt) and I made plans to meet in the AM, he was trying to get a ride to Seward and I was going that way so I offered to take him.
