Back to Fairbanks

I got up today in Coldfoot and the smoke that had started about 75 miles south of Dead Horse yesterday was even thicker. I saw Mary had made it this far south and we had breakfast together before I went to the visitor center across the  road to post my bear and fox sightings. I got on the road and didn't see much because of the smoke, visibility was down to about a 1/4 mile. I spotted this Porcupine and got some nice pics of him, Next I caught a moose crossing the road in front of me. I stopped at finger rock where someone had built a miniature version of finger rock in the parking lot since I was there a few days ago. I snapped some pics of my truck near the end of the Haul Road to show all the dirt that I had picked up. Finally I made it back to paved road and in to Fairbanks where it was very hot and smoky. I stopped by Denny and Helen's sons work site and he told me they were still there so they invited me to dinner. I enjoyed a nice dinner with my new friend and showed them my pictures of the haul road.

That's a dirty truck

It will take me over a week and 10 washes to get the majority of the dirt off my truck, but I will have some left forever.
