Glacier National Park and in to Canada

I got up about 8:00 today and drove back over the Going to the Sun Road. Soon after I crossed the top of the pass I noticed a bunch of people looking down in to the valley beside the road. Waaaayyyyy down there was a large animal feeding. But it was to far to determine whether it was a bear or an elk. I then noticed a small group of photographers about 100yds down the road all with very big lenses looking up the hill. I went down and there were some female big horn sheep very close to the road, I told them about the animal down in the valley but it had moved under cover. I did manage to get some really great shots of the sheep they cane within 10 feet of us. As I exited the park I made a U turn to buy my annual pass. the Ranger at the booth was taken back when she saw me make a U turn, I explained that I had been trying to get this pass for a few day and she laughed about my tale.

It was a short hop up to the border where I first stopped at the US side and registered my rifles. then on to Canada customs. they handled the importation very professionally and with a very friendly demeanor. I was a bit uneasy about taking them through Canada but Canadian Customs was great. I proceeded up to Calgary Alberta and ran smack in to rush hour, they really need a loop around the city. I headed west on the Trans Canada Hwy to Banff.
