On the road at last
| Well I am on the road at last, and only 19 days later then I wanted to be. I definitely took on more projects around the house than I could get done and still leave on time, that is the price I pay for being on the road for the better part of a year and a half straight. I did however get every really big job I had to do at home done! Getting the truck ready also has taken longer than I anticipated, I have probably gone over board with gadgets and supplies for the truck but I know all to well that if I don't bring something I think I might need I will wish I had. |
| I actually left at 10:30 last night because I wanted to make it through the Chicago area before the day time because the traffic backs up really bad during the day, also I might as well drive a few hours tonight because there is no way I would get a wink of sleep thinking about the trip ahead. I got to Chicago around 1am and traffic is backed up anyway, almost 20 miles heading west due to construction. I jumped off the interstate and took some back roads to get past the jam up. I got about a third of the way across Illinois before I could not go on so I pulled in to a truck stop and curled up in the back seat. I am going to really have to push hard to make Reno by Saturday dinner so I am only going to sleep until just past dawn. |
